What makes Koobiba different

Screen-free audio players aren’t new. So what makes Koobiba different?

Most products in this space follow a similar pattern:

  • You buy the player once
  • Then content is unlocked through external “keys” like cards or figurines
  • Want more stories? You keep buying more physical items, often €10–€20 per title
  • If an item is lost, the content is often unusable until you buy the physical key again
  • New content typically needs the player to be online at least once to download
  • Adding your own audio often means uploading it to a provider cloud, then linking it to a physical key for playback

Koobiba flips that model.

All content lives on the player itself, always accessible, with nothing extra to carry, lose, or replace.

Koobiba is offline-first by design. The player does not require internet. When online services are involved, like browsing content, that happens in the parent app, then content transfers locally to the player via Wi-Fi.

Your own MP3s and recordings transfer locally too. By default, your personal files don’t need to reach Koobiba servers.

And when you want more than your own library, Koobiba will offer a curated, multilingual catalog of optional content, with both free and premium story and music packs.

Finally, this offline-first approach makes Koobiba a great fit for kindergartens and daycare settings, where Wi-Fi may be unavailable and IT and privacy policies rightly limit what kid-facing devices can connect to.
